I havee a kml file, and I need to use it as a selection area.
how should I do this ?
I mean is it possible to import a "KML" file and consider it as a selection area !?

on sasplanet?
i can convert my kml file to shape file on arc gis or qgis but how we can convert it to hgl file!?
i think the question is : is it possible to convert shape file or kml file to hgl in qgis or arc gis ? ?
plus : thee first question was : how we can import a kml file and consider it as a selection area ( like an area by hlg format )

he / she / gave an awesome option
convert line to polygon in arc gis
then convert them to kml or kmz
then import them in sasplanet
right click on area
select select manager
that's all

I don't know what kind of .kml you do have, they do many things
to make a highlighting file is easy, open a new text document and write [HIGHLIGHTING] followed by the zoom of your like, right below you start the selection point list

following open your kml and pick the coordinates of 4 distant points (as minimum) and paste according to Longitude or Latitutde, then you can save as .hlg and DRAG AND DROP on SASplanet
the coordinates representation must be plain degrees, example:
PointLon_0=3.33778185821137
PointLat_0=51.5193605918165
You can also edit the file on Notepad+ and automatically replace all the file and the <coordinates> tag into a HIGHLIGHTING using the Replace plugin
